Gareth & Eryl offer a 24 hour, 7 days a week on call service from their Holywell funeral home, which includes a private chapel of rest. They will guide you through the funeral arrangements to respect the wishes of the late departed.

We understand that arranging a funeral can feel overwhelming, especially at a time of loss. Gareth and Eryl are here to guide and support you through every step, offering compassionate care and clear advice from the moment you need them.
When a death occurs, Gareth or Eryl will convey your loved one into their care from home or hospital to their private chapel of rest. They must await authorisation from the medical examiner before release from hospital can occur. They will be in touch with the nominated person responsible for making the arrangements — typically the executor of the will or next of kin.
If the death occurred outside hospital, the GP informs the medical examiner, who then forwards the death certificate to the registrar once they have scrutinised the case. The nominated person can then collect the death certificate (a fee applies for official copies) from their local registry office. Gareth and Eryl will ensure all the necessary paperwork is in place before any funeral plans are finalised. It can take up to two weeks for the medical examiner to provide the death certificate.
Making Funeral Arrangements
The nominated person will be met by Gareth or Eryl at a location of your choosing (home or funeral premises) to discuss funeral arrangements. This includes – choosing a date convenient for attendees and the clergy/celebrant, venue and type of service (burial/eco burial or cremation) and transportation to venue and reception. Donation preferences. Religious requirements will always be respected. Coffin or caskets can be plain or more detailed depending on what reflects the personality or wishes of the departed. Further personalising includes – floral tributes, the contents of an obituary notice if required to the service itself for music, readings, eulogies or photo slideshow’s in a crematorium. The nominated person will be expected to organise the reception after the funeral service. An estimated invoice can be provided on request. You may want to discuss memorialisation at an early stage, if not it can be discussed at a later date.
Throughout the process, Gareth and Eryl will remain in close contact to keep the nominated person updated on arrangements. Viewings in the chapel of rest are available by appointment only, usually in working hours but we can schedule out of hours attendees to work around travel of work commitments at no extra cost.
Gareth W Davies Funeral Directors is situated at the top of Holywell High Street. There is limited parking on the high street but there are free and fee paying council parking behind our premises. We are accessible for wheelchair users. The premises includes an arrangement room, a waiting area before the chapel of rest and accessible toilet facilities.
