We’re Here to Help Following Your Loss

We understand that arranging a funeral can feel overwhelming, especially at a time of loss. Gareth and Eryl are here to guide and support you through every step, offering compassionate care and clear advice from the moment you need them.

When a death occurs, Gareth or Eryl will bring your loved one into their care from home or hospital and into the chapel of rest. If the death occurred in hospital, the release may take some time as it must first be authorised by the medical examiner. They will be in touch with the nominated person responsible for making the arrangements — typically the executor of the will or next of kin.

If the death occurred outside hospital, the GP will usually liaise with the medical examiner, who will then forward the death certificate to the registrar once satisfied. The nominated person can then collect the certificate (a fee applies for official copies). Gareth and Eryl will make sure all the necessary paperwork is in place before any funeral plans are finalised.

Making Funeral Arrangements

They will then meet you at a convenient location to discuss the funeral arrangements. This includes choosing a date, venue, and type of service — whether burial or cremation — and making decisions about transport, coffins, and personal touches such as music, readings, or an obituary notice. Religious and cultural wishes are always respected. Reception gatherings are usually arranged by the nominated person, and a cost estimate can be provided if needed.

Throughout the process, Gareth and Eryl will remain in close contact to ensure everything is handled with care. Viewings in the chapel of rest are available by appointment, including some out-of-hours times if needed for travel or work reasons. If memorialisation is not arranged at the time of the funeral, it can be discussed at a later date.
